Syrian Ambassador Meets with the Iranian Minister of Science

Reza Faraji Dana, Iranian Science Minister met and talked about the reconstruction of Syria with Adnan Mahmoud, Syrian ambassador to Iran, AVA Diplomatic reports.Reza Faraji Dana in the meeting with the Syrian ambassador to Iran emphasized on the reconstruction of higher education infrastructures in Syria and said: “We officially invite the Syrian Higher Education Minister to pay a visit to Iran and Iran is all prepared to help Syria in reconstructing the infrastructures of Syria’s higher education”, AVA Diplomatic reported.
Referring to the agreement with the Syrian Minister on granting scholarship to 280 Syrian students in the previous visit of the Syrian Minister he said: “We can increase the number of the scholarships according to the needs of the Syrian government to enforce this agreement,”
“This will also be a good opportunity for the Syrian higher education to send their faculty member to have their sabbatical in Iran”, added Iranian Science Minister.
Adnan Mahmoud on his part said: “Since my previous meeting with the Iranian Science Minister six months ago, the developments of Syria have been in the favor of the Syrian nation and these victories are achieved by the sacrifices of the Syrian nation and aids of the Iranian nation and government,”
“The broad participation of the Syrians in the Presidential election in spite of the threats of the Takfiri groups showed that the Syrian nation will keep up the resistance movement with the leadership of the Syrian President,” said the Syrian ambassador to Iran.
“Terrorist groups demolished all the infrastructures of Syria founded during the past 30 years including the infrastructures of higher education and universities,”
“Global imperialism and some of the region countries imposed sanctions against the Syrian higher education which in its turn is facing many challenges due to the devastation of the infrastructures,” Mahmoud Adnan added.
“Our main request from the Iranian government is to increase the number of the scholarships for Masters and Ph.D. courses and also aids to meet the annual needs of the Syrian higher education system,” said the Syrian ambassador to Iran.
“The increase in the aids of Iran to the Syrian higher education together with other political interaction will nullify the propaganda of some of the region countries about scientific cooperation of Iran and Syria being limited.” reiterated he.
At the end of this meeting Mahmoud Adnan proposed that the large-scale reconstruction project of the Iranian government to help the Syrian higher education system becomes prepared by the coming trip of the Syrian Higher Education Minister. Dr. Faraji Dana accepted his request and said: “We will provide the Syrian higher education with the most possible aids and consider this as a duty”.
