 Japanese Cultural Exhibition to Be Mounted in Tehran

An exhibition of Japanese cultural works is scheduled to be mounted at Arasbaran Cultural Center in the Iranian capital of Tehran to introduce this Asian country’s heritage, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Organized by the Japanese Embassy in Tehran and the Art and Cultural Organization of the Tehran Municipality, the festival is slated to kick off on October 25, 2012.

The Japanese tea ceremony, the Japanese art of flower arrangement (Ikebana), and martial art performances are among the programs will be held during the festival.

Exhibitions of Japanese attractions’ photos, calligraphy works, Iranian and Japanese music concerts, handicrafts and Japanese traditional toys have also been organized for the three-day event.

Furthermore, the festival is programmed to hold several workshops on origami, Japanese calligraphy, Japanese graphic novel (manga), and Japanese cuisine.

“Knowing the culture of the two countries, identifying subcultures, and mutual understanding will promote peace and friendship between the two nations of Iran and Japan,” Japan’s Ambassador to Iran Kinichi Kumano had earlier said on the sidelines of the First International Conference on Cultural Heritage and Identity Formation in the Iranian city of Shiraz.
