Assalouyeh thumping heart of world energy: Finnish envoy

Southern Iranian Port of Assalouyeh is the heart of the worldˈs energy, Finlandˈs Ambassador to Tehran Harri Kamarainen said on Sunday, AVA Diplomatic reports. He made the remarks in a meeting with the Managing Director of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone Masoud Nasouri in Bushehr Province.

ˈIranˈs progresses in the field of industry are surprising; Helsinky is keen to expand relations with Tehran in all fields and in particular in the fields of economy and industry.ˈ

Managing director of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, for his part, noted that almost all of the major oil, gas and petroleum projects have been fulfilled by Iranian experts.

Finlandˈs envoy to Iran had a visit to the South Pars 15, 16 phases in Bushehr province and some other industrial sites in the region.

Iran is an energy superpower and the Petroleum industry in Iran plays an important role in it.

Despite the enemiesˈ efforts to weaken the Iranian oil industry, Iranian officials have always cautioned that the market will lose its stability and tranquility when Iranˈs oil sector faces problems.

In similar remarks late in June, Iranˈs Oil Minister Rostam Qassemi stressed Iranˈs self-sufficiency in producing the needed parts for its oil industry, and lauded the countryˈs engineers and experts for their achievements and innovations in this field.

He reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran has achieved valuable victories in the field of oil and gas infrastructures and self-sufficiency in the past few years.

With an estimated 450 trillion cubic feet of gas, the South Pars Gas Field contains about 6.8 percent of the worldˈs gas reserves. No wonder that Assalouyeh has come to include numerous gas processing and petrochemical complexes, as well as a wide range of downstream petrochemical industries, mixed industries, and semi-heavy industries in a total area of more than 3,000 hectares, which includes a plot of 920 hectares set aside for petrochemical industries, as well as 1,000 hectares allocated for the construction and expansion of downstream industries, including polymers, rubber and plastic, synthetic fibers and textiles, industrial oils, resins and adhesives, paints and protective coatings, pesticides, detergents and chemical fertilizers.

Assalouyeh terminal is also known as South Pars Terminal for the export of condensate, as well as Pars Petrochemical Terminal for the export of LPG and chemicals.

Once completed, Assaluyeh is envisioned to include 30 phases, from which phases 1-8 are currently operational and phases 9-18 are at various stages of design and construction.
