Norway and UNHCR Iran sign agreements

Norway and UNHCR Iran on 11 December signed two agreements that aim at enhancing sustainable return of Afghan refugees in Iran to Afghanistan, in the framework of the Solutions Strategy, AVA Diplomatic reports.The projects aim to enhance self-reliance and livelihoods of refugees in Iran though vocational training and provision of support for business start-up, improved access to capital and markets and introduction of new skills and technologies.
Ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud expressed on the occasion Norway’s strong support to the work of UNHCR. UNHCR representative Bernard Doyle thanked the Norwegian Government for the acknowledgement of UNHCR’s work in Iran.
