Austrian Envoy Optimistic about Lifting of Sanctions

Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Friedrich Stift called Geneva talks promising as a result of which anti-Iran sanctions were partly lifted, AVA Diplomatic reports.Speaking at a ceremony at Tehran University, he told reporters that it is expected that the next round of talks would lead to a final agreement and subsequently total lifting of sanctions.

Austrian envoy stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Austria enjoy deeply rooted relations but due to economic sanctions the level of mutual trade exchange has decreased, expressing hope that with lifting of sanctions bilateral cooperation would expand.

Stift reiterated that the two countries can broaden cooperation in the fields of auto industry, oil and gas.

He pointed to mutual cooperation between Iran and Austria in fighting air pollution, saying the Iranian government is now well aware of the fact and is determined to solve the issue.
