 Iran’ Red Crescent Society to Boost Cooperation with Austria

Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Friedrich Stift met on Wednesday with the Head of Red Crescent Society of Iran Mohammad Farhadi on cooperation in rescue and relief operations, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Stift stated that his country’s Red Cross is ready to set up training workshops for rescue operations, optimum use of sniffer dogs as well as the disaster management, adding such exchange of visits helps broaden ties and cooperation between the two countries.

“Since Austria is active in production of rescue helicopters, the country is to put its experience at the disposal of Iran’s Red Crescent Society”, the ambassador reiterated.

Farhadi, for his part said Iran’s Red Crescent Society seeks broadening cooperation with Austrian Red Cross in management of rescue operations, emergency medical services and training of Iranian rescuers, noting that Iran needs the Austrian experience to bolster Iran’s rescue operations in case of air disasters.

Iran is to make use of the Austrian experience in breeding up sniffer dogs as well as setting up makeshift medical centers for emergency occasions, he said.
