 Lebanese envoy promises security measures for embassies in Beirut

Following suicide bombing in front of Iran’s embassy in Beirut, the Lebanese ambassador to Iran Fadi Haj Ali told reporters the Lebanese government will take necessary measures to establish and maintain security for embassies and diplomatic centers, AVA Diplomatic reports.Fadi Haj Ali stressed that Lebanese officials do their best to maintain security in the country, adding that the Lebanese government and army take necessary measures to establish security even though they are victims of terrorist attacks themselves.

He highlighted the consequences of the Syrian crisis in the region and particularly in Lebanon, saying Lebanon is in critical security and political situation, considering the fact that it is being administered by an interim government.

“Lebanon and Iran are in the same front in the fight against terrorism,” he reiterated, saying terrorist attacks occur even in secure and stable countries.

Speaking of the bomb blast near the Iranian embassy in Beirut, he reiterated that the terrorist attack has hurt Lebanon more than Iran.

He noted the martyrdom of Iranian embassy’s cultural counselor in the bombing and said he met the cultural counselor last month before leaving for Beirut in Tehran and discussed cultural activities in Lebanon.

He expressed grief over the martyrdom of Iranian embassy’s cultural counselor Ebrahim Ansari, saying his loss is irrecoverable for Lebanon.
