Bolivian ambassador to Tehran Jorge Miranda Luizaga lashed out at certain countries for their passive approach towards Syria, reiterating that no country should keep mum about what is happening in the crisis-hit country.
“It is the responsibility of all countries to go to action for settlement of Syrian issue. All countries are responsible for Syria,” Luizaga told reporters.
“Syrian nation is undergoing many hardships. We cannot remain silent, seeing these hardships,” he added, noting 26 months of suffering the Syrian people have undergone.
Elsewhere, he moved to the recent Syria Friends conference held in Tehran, and said holding such sessions could prove influential in settlement of Syrian crisis. “The participants exchanged views on the establishment of peace, stability and security in Syria,” the Bolivian envoy said.
Luizaga added talks between Syrian opposition forces and the government is of great importance in resolving the turmoil in the country, adding the Syrian nation should decide about settlement of their country’s crisis.
“Russia and China have adopted a correct approach to Syria. In the next-month Geneva II conference, the West will change its position and such a chain should take place. Most countries in the world are against the West’s positions regarding Syria and want the establishment of peace and stability in the country,” he added.
