 Iranian Taekwondo athletes to compete in Korean Ambassador’s Cup

Iran will host a Taekwondo competition called ‘Korean Ambassador’s Cup’ will be held in to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations of Iran and South Korea, AVA Diplomatic reports.a nationwide Taekwondo competition called ‘Korean Ambassador’s Cup’ will be held in 4 Olympic weight categories with male athletes from all over the country.Each province is represented by a team participated by 4 male athletes and 3 technical officials.

I.R. Iran Taekwondo Federation has so far organized a competition call Peace and Friendship Cup between Iran and South Korea but following pursuits by the South Korean ambassador, the cup is named after the Korean Ambassador in the current year.

Iran and South Korea are considered to be two leading taekwondo teams both in Asia and the world and the competition will be held in order to maintain their position as well as commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations of Iran and South Korea.
