Cuban envoy: Iran among main powers of world’s wrestling

Cuban ambassador to Tehran Alexis Bandrich Vega in a meeting with the caretaker of Iran Wrestling Federation Hamid Banitamim called Iran as one of the main powers of the world wrestling, AVA Diplomatic reports.

He appreciated Iran’s hosting of the Cuban team in the Takhti Cup, the Cuban envoy pointed to the privileged position of the Iranian wrestling, Cuba’s senior diplomat on Saturday asserted, ‘We welcome the increase in communications between the two countries.’

The Cuban ambassador to Iran pointed out that the Cuban country has invested in the wrestling and has had good champions from the past until today, said that the presence of wrestlers and Cuban coaches in the Takhti Cup reflects the depth of the two countries’ relations, and I am pleased that two our wrestler won gold in this tournament.”

Bandrich Vega added, ‘We participated in the tournament with good and distinguished players, because our coaches are looking to evaluate their players for the important championships ahead.”
