Pakistan envoy calls for announcing Iranian movies in Pakistan

Pakistan ambassador to Iran Riffat Masood has called for introducing and displaying Iranian movies in Pakistan and vice versa, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Masood made the remarks in a meeting with Managing Director of Farabi Foundation Alireza Tabesh in Tehran on Tuesday. Public media should introduce both countries’ cultures, she said.

She also emphasized the fact that in addition to historical and semantic genres, other ones should also be considered.

Meanwhile, Tabesh highlighted developing cooperation and taking advantage of cultural and cinema capacities. Referring to historical, cultural and religious commonalities between the two countries, he said these potentials have provided cultural and cinema relations. Iranian cinema international supreme council and Farabi Foundation have put on the agenda promoting cinema cooperation with regional countries especially with ECO member states.  Referring to Pakistan as one of the main target markets for Iran, he said both countries should be aware of the contemporary cinema and also the cultural and art development.
