 Envoy: Seoul seeks to maintain ties with Tehran

South Korean ambassador in Tehran said his government is trying to maintain its political and economic relations with Iran, AVA Diplomatic reports.

‘South Korean exemption from sanctions was a result of the efforts of the South Korean government and companies,’ Yu Jang Hian said Tuesday evening at a joint seminar on economic opportunities of Iran and South Korea. He added, ‘Holding such a seminar means that we want to find a solution in the current situation for problems and challenges and get a path to develop cooperation between the two countries.’

“In addition to oil, household appliances and automobiles, we have to provide more cooperation fields,’ he said.

The South Korean ambassador stressed that Iran is one of the most important countries in the region, and the population, area, natural resources and geographical location has made it one of the most important countries in the Middle East. A joint seminar on economic opportunities of Iran and South Korea was held in the presence of economic activists of two countries in the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture on Tuesday.
