Commemoration of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

UNIC Reference Assistance Nazanin Ghaemmaghami-Farahani delivered the SG’s message on International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women during a conference held at UN conference room to mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 26 November 2018. The seminar was organized by the Institute for Safeguarding Women’s Rights (ISWR) in partnership with UNIC Tehran, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Nearly 100 women rights activists, NGO members,  university professors and students attended the conference. Managing Director ISWR Ms. Atieh Qoshooni, Director of Department of Children and Family Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Zahra Seddiq and Manager of Network of Iran Women and Women’s Cooperation Council Ms. Tooran Valimorad were other speakers of the conference.

UN Women videos on elimination of violence against women were screened for the participants. UN promotional items such UDHR, UN Charter, UN Cards etc. were given to the participants. The seminar ended with a question and answer session.
