US psychological war of sanctions not effective: Iran

Undoubtedly, the US psychological war on Iran will not produce any result, Iranian Parliament Speaker Special Aide Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday, AVA Diplomatic reports.

‘The fear that (the US President Donald) Trump has caused among certain countries for sanctions is times bigger than the sanctions in reality; undoubtedly, the US psychological war of sanctions will not bear fruits,’ Amir-Abdollahian said during a meeting with Rostam Yahya, Malaysian Ambassador to Tehran.

He said Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammed has undertaken an important role in Malaysia and on the international scene and that the new round of his management has provided both Iran and Malaysia with a good chance to expand all-out relations.’

On condition of Muslims in Myanmar, the Iranian official said Muslim countries should not remain ignorant of the unfortunate conditions faced by (the Rohingya) Muslim minority in Myanmar.

He said Malaysia has taken realistic measures in that connection and hoped that Muslim countries’ elite will take a step towards materialization of peace as crisis continues to hit Bahrain, Yemen and Myanmar.

Malaysian Ambassador, in turn, said both Iran and Malaysia enjoy durable and firm relations and their political ties are at a high level.

‘Seriously speaking, we are to solve the current problems and ease conditions,’ Yahya said.

He hoped for growing Iran-Malaysia parliamentary and political ties and that Iran will help find appropriate solutions to the ongoing crises.
