Statement of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Islamic Republic of Iran on 100 days of hunger strike of the Ukrainian political prisoner in Russia Oleg Sentsov, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Tuesday, August 21, 2018 is the 100th day of Oleg Sentsov’s hunger strike. Ukrainian national and film director O.Sentsov was detained by Russia after expressing peaceful opposition to the illegal annexation of Crimea. He was convicted on fabricated terrorism charges and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

On 14th May 2018 Oleg Sentsov announced the hunger strike demanding the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners being held in Russia.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls on partners and international organizations to increase pressure on Russia to release Oleg Sentsov and free Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia.

On 21st August Oleg Sentsov’s sister N.Kaplan recorded a video appeal to the world, where she asks to stand together for the cause of liberation of her brother.
