New Qatari ambassador to Iran named after 18 months
Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani appointed Mohammed bin Hamad Al Hajri as that country’s new ambassador to Iran after 18 months, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Mohammed bin Hamad Al Hajri – the newly-appointed Qatari ambassador to Iran – has previously served as Qatar’s ambassador to Yemen, Libya, and Greece.
When the Saudi embassy in Tehran was stormed after the assassination of a senior Shia cleric by Saudi regime in 2015, Qatar and some other Arab countries recalled their ambassadors from Tehran in a sign of support for the Riyadh government.
The newly-appointed Qatari ambassador to Tehran will replace Ali bin Hamad Al Sulaiti who will be serving as Qatar’s new ambassador to Peru.
