Indonesian Ambassador to Iran Octavino Alimudin said relations between Iran and Indonesia are at peak, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Alimudin made the remarks on the sidelines of UNESCO celebrations marking World Day for Cultural Diversity 2018 in Iran.
Elaborating on cultural ties between Iran and Indonesia, he said, ‘We see the Iranian and Indonesian cultural ties and cooperation as really good in that we could exchange our students and some of the Indonesian performance will also be displayed in Iran.’
‘Last year we had the painting exhibition in Milad Tower and we also participated in Quran recite competitions last month,’ he added.
“We are really at peak of our relations,’ Indonesian ambassador reiterated.
Commenting on Iran’s cultural diversity, Alimudin said, ‘Cultural diversity means that we have differences and we cannot impose same type of culture, but even though we are different we are all united so we could say even in Iran you have diverse culture starting for example in the northern part of Iran to south of Iran, but all of them can show that the culture in Iran resembles what we really feel.”
“We have some cultural heritages which we gathered from Iran,” he noted.
Responding a question as regard future of relations between the two countries, Alimudin said, ‘As I mentioned we have very close ties in culture so for this year we will have some Iranians to study culture in Indonesia.”
“They will study Indonesian culture. Some of Iranians will also study the Indonesian language on the other hand from Indonesia we have more and more Indonesians students in Iran,” he added.
UNESCO organized a festive event Tuesday at the Ivan Attar Auditorium in Sa’adabad Cultural and Historical Complex of Tehran to mark the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development 2018 in Iran.
