Two Iranian citizens imprisoned in Thailand were extradited to Iran to spend the rest of their jail terms in their home country, said Deputy Justice Minister for Human Rights and International Affairs Mahmoud Abbasi, AVA Diplomatic reports.
‘The two prisoners were extradited to Iran based on the mutual judicial and legal agreements,’ said Abbasi on Wednesday.
He also said that some other Iranians are still in prison in Thailand.
Abbasi also said that 500 Iranians imprisoned in Afghanistan are to be extradited to Iran; Iran is waiting for the Afghan authorities’ response.
Earlier on May 10, Iran Ambassador to Kuwait Alireza Enayati said that 28 Iranian citizens imprisoned in Kuwait were extradited to Iran to spend the rest of their jail terms in Iran.
Also on May 13, Azerbaijan Republic extradited 15 Iranian prisoners to the Iran via Astara Customs House Saturday.
