News prepares the ground for promoting relations among countries, Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency Seyyed Zia Hashemi said, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Media can provide people and officials with a true image of the realities and the current events, Hashemi said Tuesday in a meeting with Serbia ambassador to Iran Dragan Todorovic.
He emphasized IRNA readiness for developing its ties with Serbian media and the official news agency of the country.
Hashemi welcomed visa waiver for tourists and also the plan for launching direct flight between Iran and Serbia.
This is not only helpful for tourists, but for giving information as regard cultural, natural and historical attractions and will motivate Serbian tourists to visit Iran, he said.
Meanwhile, Todorovic expressed Serbia’s interest in promoting political and economic relations with Iran.
He pointed to the upcoming joint economic commission between Iran and Serbia as an important step for boosting relations between the two countries.
Sebian envoy expressed the hope that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif would have a trip to Serbia to develop political relations.
During the meeting, both sides underlined the importance of promoting cultural, academic and sports ties between Tehran and Belgrade.
