Special Advisor to Majlis Speaker for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Wednesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tajikistan are to broaden exchange of security information in fight against Takfiri terrorist groups in the region in line with broadening political and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with Tajik Ambassador to Tehran Nematollah Imamzadeh in Tehran on Wednesday.
There are ample of cultural and historical commonalities between the two Muslim nations, he said, adding that historical and language commonalities will be regarded as a strong backbone in broadening political, cultural and economic cooperation between the two countries which should be in line with both sides’ national interests.
Formation of parliamentary friendship groups and exchange of visits between the two sides parliamentarian expert committees can ease expansion of cooperation between the two countries, he said.
Enemies have always tried to distance the two countries, but through exchange of visits and negotiations between the two sides’ high-ranking officials, it will be possible to prevent materialization of ill-wishers’ ploys, Abdollahian said.
He called for the expansion of security cooperation in the fight against Takfiri terrorist groups in the region.
Tajik ambassador, for his part, said grounds for expansion of cooperation are well-prepared which all should be upgraded.
Relations between the two nations is very profound and we should not let be harmed under any circumstances, he said.
He expressed the hope to witness expansion of jointly run investments mainly in energy, water, and agriculture as well as tourism industry.
