PHL AMBASSADOR TO IRAN VISITS THE PERSIAN GULF MINING AND METAL INDUSTRIES SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE

Philippine Ambassador to Iran Visits the Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Philippine Ambassador to Iran Wilfredo C. Santos visited the Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone in Bandar Abbas in the Hormozgan Province to meet with key officials to discuss possible areas of cooperation in business, trade and investment for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Ambassador Santos met with Chairman of the Board Abdol Majid Sharifi and Managing Director Ali Dehaghin of the South Kaveh Steel Company as well as with the Managing Director and Member of the Board of PGSEZ Hassan Khalaj Tehrani.

PGSEZ is a major hub for various industries in Iran like steel production, aluminum, electrical energy, petrochemicals, information technology, water desalination, etc.

The visit also included an ocular inspection to the Shahid Rajaei Port which is the largest international port in Iran where 60% of the total cargoes in Iran are being transported annually
