Iranian official: Syria capable of resisting int’l plots

Syria has demonstrated that it is possible to resist an evil international plot, a member of Iran’s Expediency Council said on Tuesday, AVA Diplomatic reports.

‘The US and Saudi Arabia, who are supporting terrorists, thought that they could defeat Syria within weeks, but now it is six years that the country’s people and government, headed by Bashar al-Assad, have managed to resist and win an international war,’ Ali Akbar Velayati said in a meeting with the Syrian ambassador to Tehran.

No doubt, the hostility by the US and the Zionists towards the resistance front which has originated in Tehran and expanded into Yemen and other countries, is not going to bear any results, Velayati added, expressing assurance that Syria will preserve its integrity.

The Americans, by their presence in some parts in the eastern and northeastern Syria, are following to disintegrate the country, and they have the same evil plan for Iraq, Velayati said.

They are using the Zionist regime as a proxy to develop their plots in the region and now they are trying to create another Israel, he warned.

‘However, they would not be successful in pursuing their goal,’ Velayati added.

‘The resistance front in Syria, Iraq and Yemen has been successful, and it will continue to be so against any attempts aimed at disintegrating the region,’ he said. The member of Iran’s Expediency Council also said that the Islamic Republic of Iran would support integrity of all countries,’ he said.
