Indonesia observes Independence Day in Tehran

On Thursday, the National Day of the Republic of Indonesia was celebrated in Tehran at the residence of the Indonesian envoy to Iran with some with some 70 guests in attendance, AVA Diplomatic reports.
The organizer of event, the Iran Friendship Association, with cooperation of the Embassy of Republic of Indonesia in Tehran, had set up Iranian-Indonesian music performance for the occasion.
The music performers from Iran and Indonesia each played their native music and sang beautiful songs for attendees. Cheering up the audience, the Indonesian group also sang a native Persian song, obviously with accent, at the event.
In the opening speech, Indonesian Ambassador Octavino Alimudin highlighted the importance of enhancement of bilateral relations between the two Muslim countries, Iran and Indonesia.
Referring to common ground between the two states, the diplomat said Iran and Indonesia have similarities in “culture, customs and traditions, and hospitality.”
Calling music a factor in uniting people, Ambassador Alimudin added “through music as a universal tool people can come closer together.”
The diplomat expressed hope that in the future they organize similar events for Indonesian movies and culinary in Iran.
