 Tehran, Paris to promote ties in medical sciences: Iranian official

Chancellor of Shahid Beheshti Medical University said that establishment of Iran-France Chamber of Cooperation aims to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of medical sciences, especially at the level of universities, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Making the remarks in the inaugural ceremony of the chamber late on Sunday, Ali Asghar Peyvandi expressed hope that basic steps would be taken in line with promoting scientific, medical and academic ties between the two countries.

Iran-France ties are historic and ancient, and their cultural, scientific, and academic relations have always been of high level, he said.

Referring to setting up of Darolfonoon School and Pasteur Institute in cooperation with France in Iran long ago, Peyvandi said that these are examples of scientific and medical cooperation between Tehran and Paris.

He also said that visits to scientific centers of various European states such as France, Austria, Hungary, Portugal, and Italy have led to signing various agreements.

Iran-France Chamber of Cooperation opened in a ceremony attended by the French Ambassador to Iran Francois Senemaud and a number of Health Ministry’s officials in the premises of University of Shahid Beheshti.
