“Armenia Supplies 20K GB of Iran’s Internet Annually,” Says Armenian Ambassador

Armenia’s Ambassador to Iran states, “As two neighboring countries, Iran and Armenia certainly have a great spectrum of common grounds for economic cooperation and gives and takes which should be further identified.”

In a meeting with the general manager and board of directors of the company of industrial districts of the Markazi Province, AVA Diplomatic reports, Artashes Toumanian continued, “Lack of familiarity with the common cooperation fields between Iran and Armenia definitely curbs the gives and takes between the two countries; therefore the identification thereof is a priority.”

Toumanian also added, “Armenia is experienced and quite capable in producing concentrate and considering that the production of some agricultural items such as pomegranate in the province can be exported, this area can appear quite fruitful. Another aspect of capability for Armenia is IT in which it is quite functional and even equals some of the developed countries and in verifying so, we can mention a 10-thousand-member population out of the country’s 3 million who are active in this field.”

Stressing the trend of IT development and vast investments accordingly, the Armenian Ambassador reminded, “Currently, Armenia supplies 20k gigabytes of Iran’s internet each year. There is also a perspective of cooperation in the banking area between Iran and Armenia for which we are preparing agreements to sign, yet it should be guaranteed by proper information and awareness thereof.”
