UNESCO Representative discusses cooperation in Culture and Tourism with Vice-President Ahmadipour
Ms. Esther Kuisch Laroche, Director and Representative of the UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office, met with H.E. Ms. Zara Ahmadipour, Vice-President and Head of the Iranian Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), AVA Diplomatic reports.
The two parties discussed the ongoing cooperation between ICHHTO and UNESCO in the fields of management and conservation of cultural heritage sites, underwater archeology, safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage, promotion of creative industries through the Creative Cities Network, and the development of sustainable tourism.
H.E. Ms. Ahmadipour thanked UNESCO for its continuous support and called for increased cooperation in all areas, particularly in the field of sustainable tourism.
Ms. Kuisch Laroche praised the work of ICHHTO and underlined the long-standing partnership between both organizations.
She provided an overview of the joint activities implemented during the past year and also discussed the planned activities for the coming months.
Ms. Kuisch Laroche reiterated the full and continued support of the UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office to the Islamic Republic of Iran in all of UNESCO’s fields of expertise.
