President receives credentials of new Swedish envoy
President Hassan Rouhani received credentials of new Swedish Ambassador to Tehran Helena Sangeland to Tehran on Monday, AVA Diplomatic reports.
In the meeting, President said today in the post-JCPOA era, suitable conditions have been prepared for promotion of Tehran-Stockholm bilateral, regional and international relations, which should be used in favor of interests of both Iranian and Swedish nations.
Over recent years, appropriate measures have been taken by Iranian and Swedish officials to upgrade economic ties and it is necessary for the two sides to continue the efforts until reaching a desirable status, said the official, adding that all the existing capacities, especially those in the energy and industrial sectors, should be utilized.
Referring to moderate stances of Sweden on regional and international issues, Rouhani said Sweden is capable of playing constructive role for promotion of ties between Tehran and the European Union.
President Rouhani said development of banking relations will serve as essential pillar for economic relations between Tehran and Stockholm .
He then hoped for a momentum in the Tehran-Stockholm relations.
The Iranian chief executive expressed optimism for more coordination and cooperation between the two countries in connection with the regional crises and issues, including campaign against terrorism.
The president also hoped for restoration of peace and stability in the region in light of cooperation between Iran and Sweden.
President Rouhani said Iran wants contribution of all countries into campaign against terrorism, because it is not just a danger for the region but for the entire world.
Submitting her credentials to President Rouhani, Helena Sangeland said Sweden wants to deepen ties with Iran.
‘My main mission is to give an impetus to Tehran-Stockholm ties so that they would be upgraded in all domains.’
She said the JCPOA has today created abundant opportunities and Sweden hopes that within the JCPOA framework, it would utilize all the existing capacities to upgrade ties with Iran.
Pointing to willingness of Swedish banks and companies for cooperation with Iran, Sangeland said, ‘I provide assurances that Swedish firms and banks are as interested in and willing for cooperation and promotion of relations as Iranian companies and banks are.’
President Rouhani separately met and received credentials of new ambassadors of Sweden, Britain, Moldova, Columbia, Sierra Leone and Albania on Monday.
