 Switzerland optimistic about JCPOA outcomes: Swiss envoy

Swiss Ambassador to Iran Giulio Haas said on Wednesday that his government is optimistic about the outcomes of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action struck by Iran and world powers on July 14, 2015, AVA Diplomatic reports.

He made the remarks in a meeting with mayor of Khorramabad in the western Iranian province

Switzerland made many efforts during the Iranian talks with P5+1- the US, UK, France, China and Russia plus Germany, Haas said.

Iran has special status in the globe, said the envoy adding Switzerland is willing to implement joint venture investments in economic and tourism plans with Iran.

He also referred to Iran’s Lorestan province as a special destination for tourists.

Implementation of the JCPOA started on January 16, 2016. Iran made major changes in construction of Arak nuclear site and reduced the degee of uranum enrichment and the western parties undertook to lift sanctions.

However, after lapse of a full one year, Washington has yet to make up its mind to lift sanctions on Iranian banking ties with the outside world.

The US president declared to lift the sanctions on banking ties, but, practical steps must be taken by the US Department of Treasury by authorizing online exchange of dollar-to-euro in the international SWIFT networks.

The US Department of Treasury has violated human rights of 80 million Iranian population in the past one year reneging on the JCPOA.

The US Department of Treasury refuses to authorize the US and EU banks to do business with Iran inflicting heavy losses on Iranian economy with every day passing from the Implementation Day of the nuclear deal.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif decried the US procrastination over authorizing the US and EU banks to do business with Iran.

The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon who welcomed Implementation Day of JCPOA has kept mum over procrastination of the United States and such gross violation of human rights of 80 million Iranian population.

Free trade and international banking relations is the basic human rights of every nation and government as per the Charter of the United Nations.

The incumbent government has come to terms with the international community and the United Nations Security Council revoked the former resolutions imposing sanctions on Iran due to the stand-off of the former government of the radicals.
