Japan ready to return to Iranian petrochemical industry
The Japanese firms with good record in launching petrochemical plants in Iran called for partnership with Iran in development of petrochemical industry, Japanese ambassador said on Wednesday, AVA Diplomatic reports.
Ambassador of Japan Koji Haneda said that he believes Chabahar petrochemical industries provide favorable conditions for Japanese investors.
‘Ground is prepared for greater investments of Japan in Iran and Japan is ready both for partnership and for making investments in Chabahar petrochemical industries,’ said Ambassador Haneda.
The ambassador was heading a delegation comprised of representatives of ten Japanese companies on a visit to Chabahar Port to see the commercial and economic potentials.
Expansion of Chabahar petrochemical industry is among the plans pursued after provision of natural gas for Sistan-Baluchestan province and the infrastructures for the purpose are under construction.
Meanwhile, the Japanese envoy expressed his country’s interest in participation in development project of Martyr Beheshti Port’s jetties.
‘The development of the port can provide greater opportunities for Japanese investors and they should not miss the opportunity.’
Heneda highlighted the strategic significance of Iran, and especially it’s Chabahar Port, in transit of goods to various destinations in the world.
He said that the Japanese delegation is commissioned by Tokyo to use the existing potentials for encouraging the Japanese investors to develop this major port.
economic service reported that Indian officials had earlier expressed interest in establishment of petrochemical plants in Chabahar region and held talks with Iranian officials on the issue.
It is predicted that after the termination of the anti-Iranian sanctions billions of dollars of foreign investments will be absorbed by the Iranian petrochemical industry alone.
