 Iran, Germany to Promote Tourism Cooperation

German Ambassador to Iran Michael Freiherr von Ungern referred to the increasing interest of foreign tourists to visit Iran’s cultural and historical monuments, saying that it has been announced that the country enjoyed full capacity for attracting German tourists, AVA Diplomatic reports.He stated that European and foreign tourists are interested in visiting Iran’s beautiful cities and rare landscapes, he said, adding that archeological excavations can serve as main area of cooperation between the two countries.

German diplomat made the remarks in his meeting with the Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Masoud Soltanifar.

Soltanifar, for his part, underlined the need for both countries to enhance tourism cooperation, saying the two countries have had good cultural and social relations in the course of history.

He also hailed Iran-Germany cultural ties and said that a number of memoranda of understanding have been signed by the two countries.

Describing Germany as of the successful countries in the field of tourism in the world, Soltanifar noted that Iran is among top states in view of its exceptional and rare historic, cultural and natural potentials.
