Iran conveyed its protest to the British charge d’affaires in Tehran over the “uncalculated stances” and comments made by the British officials on the role played by Iran regarding the Syrian crisis, Foreign Ministry reported on Friday, AVA Diplomatic reports.
According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi, in the absence of the UK’s ambassador in Tehran, the British charge d’affaires was summoned to the Foreign Ministry by Deputy Director General for the West Europe Department.
He added that Tehran’s protest to the latest ‘uncalculated and unreal’ stances of British officials were brought to the notice of the Charge D’Affairs and he was also “warned against destructive effects of those stances on the human conditions in Syria and on the international peace and security.”
Qasemi added that the Foreign Ministry official in his meeting with the British diplomat referred to policies and measures of the Islamic Republic of Iran to establish peace and stability in Syria and extend humanitarian aid to the people of the war-torn country.
The Iranian official also underlined the need for the halt of any help and support by the British government for the terrorist groups.
