Tehran host Indonesia’s photo art on Iran
An exhibition of photos on Iran taken by the ambassador of Indonesia, titled “Iran: East and West Perspectives”, has been mounted in Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural Complex, AVA Diplomatic reports.Officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) as well as ambassadors of Islamic and European countries attended the opening ceremony held on April 7, 2013.
Deputy Islamic Culture and Guidance Minister for Arts Dr. Shahabadi who attended the ceremony noted the significance of the exhibition and impact of photography relations between governments and countries. “It is very interesting for me that two virtuoso ambassadors and diplomats have travelled around Iran during their missions and taken photos of Iran’s sceneries,” he said.
“The ambassador of Indonesiahas made an interesting and appealing cultural and artistic move which lays the groundwork for a cultural and artistic move in the diplomatic sphere and we are also here two thank the ambassador,” he added.
“I should thank on my own part the virtuoso ambassador who have tried, by means of art and through the art of photography, to picture the beauties of the Islamic Iran and the variety in its different regions. I hope we can see the recurrence of such events and the continuation of these activities particularly on the part of ambassadors and diplomats,” Deputy Islamic Culture and Guidance Minister said.
Indonesian Ambassador Dian Wirengjurit who showcased 60 selected photos he took from different parts of Iran in the exhibition welcomed the guest who attended the opening ceremony. “I don’t call myself an artist or photographer. Of course, I know that every photographer’s first 10000 photos are not good but I should say I have crossed the 10000-photo limit and have obtained a lot of experience in the field,” he said.
“I hope the result of our work and efforts has been shown in a good way in this exhibition and that we put good photos on display but the truth is that we have expressed many issues in this exhibition,” he added.
“In these photos, we want to say many issues that are brought up do not matter for the Iranian people. The Iranian people do not pay attention to the problems, sanctions and the like and life goes on quite normally in Iran. The true message of our photos is that people in different parts of Iran continue their lives with their own tradition, rituals, and culture with happiness and joy and this is the truth in Iran,” said the Indonesian Ambassador to Tehran.
Director-general of MFA’s Asia-Pacific Bureau Seyyed Rassoul Mohajer and ICRO deputy director Najafi Barzegar were also among the other officials and special guests who attended the ceremony.
