 Iranian Province, Kazakhstan Discuss Expansion of Economic Relations

Officials from Iran’s Northern Province of Mazandaran and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Tehran Baghdad Amiriyev, in a meeting on Wednesday, explored new avenues for further development of bilateral trade ties, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Speaking at a meeting with the head and members of Mazandaran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, the ambassador said that exports and imports of agricultural products stands atop Astana’s agenda of expansion of trade ties with Mazandaran.

He said that Kazakhstan can import citrus fruits, kiwi, flowers and ornamental plants, chicken meat and dairy products from Mazandaran and is able to export wheat and livestock to the province.

He termed the Caspian Sea a key capacity in commercial transportation and noted that tourism between Iran and Kazakhstan can be a factor for broader relations.

In recent years, Iran has striven to expand its ties and cooperation with the regional states, specially those in the Central Asia, including Kazakhstan.
