 Uzbekistan, Iran Determined to Boost Ties

In order to activate the approved regional relationships with Uzbekistan as an esteemed member country of RRRTC-CWA, Dr. Shahdi had a meeting with Ambassador Ilhom Akramov at the embassy of Uzbekistan on 15 January, 2013 in Tehran, AVA Diplomatic reports.In this meeting, negotiations conducted on the complied programs of RRRTC-CWA, geographic, climatic and agricultural conditions of Uzbekistan which has a good potential to cooperate with RRRTC-CWA in order to extend concerned collaborations in rice section.

After presenting a comprehensive overview of the regional center and its activities and having negotiations over rice critical issues in the region and also adopted items at the 2nd technical meeting committee by Dr. Shahdi, the ambassador welcomed the aims, mission and projected programs of the regional center and acknowledged that they will do their best for promotion of cooperation between their country and RRRTC-CWA.

He hoped that Uzbekistan will benefit from advantages of newly-established regional center to progress its rice sector by technical, research and training support of RRRTC-CWA in future.

The mbassador Akramov emphasized on travel of Dr. Shahdi to Uzbekistan to be acquainted with the latest rice production techniques and scientific achievements and needed technical assistance of this country at the national level.
