Envoy: Syria’s doors open to Iran businessmen

Syrian Ambassador in Iran Adnan Mahmoud said that Syria’s doors are open to Iranian economic activists during the reconstruction era of Syria, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Mahmoud said at Iran-Syria Trade Meeting on Saturday that ‘for expanding the economies ties with Iran, we welcome Iranian investment in various fields’, including the free zones of Syria.

He said the Syrian government at this stage gave priority to its allies, in particular the Islamic Republic of Iran, and those who sponsored terrorism in Syria and destroyed the country’s economy would by no means have a place in Syria at this stage.

The Syrian Ambassador to Tehran stated, “We invite the private sector of Iran to invest in economic projects of Syria, and we will use all powers to serve the interests of the two countries.”

Mahmoud said that Syria calls Iran and its private sector in the field of economic activities and production, a partner in investment, and efforts should be made to eliminate all barriers to trade, including the issues that exist in banking relationships.

Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, Javad Torkabadi, said, ‘With the economic ties between Iran and Syria, we can create a powerful economic region.’
