 Iranian, Latvian private sectors should take best advantage of potentials, opportunities

Stating that Iran was one of the first countries that recognized Latvia’s independence, President Rouhani said: “We are ready to deepen our relations and cooperation with Latvia as a friend country in different sectors”, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Speaking in a meeting with the new non-resident Ambassador of Latvia to Tehran on Tuesday while receiving his letter of credence, President Hassan Rouhani expressed hope that economic, cultural and scientific relations between the two countries develop”.

Fortunately, positive developments have been made in Tehran-Riga relations in recent years, he said, stressing the importance of cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries, especially chambers of commerce to take the best advantage of potentials and opportunities for further development of ties.

New non-resident Ambassador of Latvia to Tehran Pēteris Kārlis Elferts presented his letter of credence to President Rouhani and said: “Latvia always considers itself indebted to the Iranian government and people for their support”.

He also said he was honored to be Latvia’s ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing the importance of taking the best advantage of the existing potentials to promote cooperation and relations between the two countries.
