MP: Dispatching weapons for terrorist groups intensifies tension in the region

Head of Majlis national security and foreign policy commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Sunday that foreign countries military intervention and dispatching weapons for terrorists groups has intensified tensions in the region, AVA Diplomatic reports.

Boroujerdi made the remarks in meeting with Ukraine Ambassador to Tehran Sergei Buldiliak.

Given the humanitarian crises in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, Boroujerdi said that foreign countries military intervention in the region escalated tension.

He said that supporting policy of the US and its regional allies for terrorist groups is a wrong and defeated policy and is contrary to their so-called democratic standards.

Boroujerdi called US behavior renewing Iran Sanctions Act contrary to its commitments in JCPOA and shows that the US is not trustworthy.

He underlined importance of the parliaments role in development and expansion of bilateral ties and said that the two parliaments would support and facilitate the politico-economic relations between Iran and Ukraine.

The MP said that establishment of parliamentary friendship group in Majlis indicated interest to expand mutual relations.

Sergei Buldiliak called Iran as a big and important country in the region, saying that considering plenty of economic, agriculture and industrial capacities his country welcomes every kind of cooperation and joint venture with Iranian public and private sector.

He also underlined regular consultations and constant visits of senior political and parliamentary officials between the two countries to consolidate the friendly relations.
